In up-to-date years, obesity has become a serious health problem particularly among industrialized countries in the west. Even after all the campaigns about wholesome eating and working out regularly, the amount of obesity cases are still on the rise. The problem with obesity is that it increases the risk of acquiring other more serious illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and hypertension. Even some types of cancers are said to be affected by obesity.

Why, after all that has been said and done about weight loss, are so many citizen still overweight if not downright obese? This is particularly true with office jobs where workers sit in front of a computer most of the time, leaving their cubicles only for lunch and for the occasional toilet and coffee breaks. As a normal rule, if you sit practically motionless most of the time, you will absolutely gain weight. Sitting in an office chair for eight hours or more is no best than being a couch potato at home. It is probably worse because at least as a couch potato you get to watch Tv.
